do_action Beirut charity hackathon is back for a third installment! It will take place at Beirut Digital District on 7 December 2019, 8:30am – 6:30pm.
do_action Beirut Hackathon is a community-organized event that is focused on using WordPress to give deserving Lebanese non-profit organizations (NGOs) their own online presence. The one-day event includes participants from Beirut WordPress community (wpBeirut) coming together to plan and build brand new websites for a number of local NGOs.
Here are some of the websites we created at our 2017 hackathon and 2018 hackathon (links for 2 min videos):

This year, for the third annual do_action event, we are going to design websites for five (5) charitable organizations.
Who can apply?
If you run a non-profit registered charity in Lebanon and your non-profit doesn’t already have an existing website then you can apply using the form at the end of this page.
What you will get in return:
- Free website made by local professionals
- New connections
- Online present
Who can volunteer?
If you’re in Lebanon and have some experience with, or interest in, WordPress, you can participate.
Each of the NGOs websites will be built by a team of 5-8 volunteers in the following roles:
- Project Manager
- Designer
- Developers
- Content Manager
- Social Media Manager
- Quality Assurance Tester

Sponsorships and Contributions
We are also looking for sponsorships to make this event successful. We expect a participation of around 35 to 50 people from all different industries. We have no fixed sponsorship amounts and will accept any contribution from 10$ and above.
Sponsorships and contributions can be made directly online via our Open Collective platform – just click the ‘contribute’ button and choose the amount you would like to contribute with. You can also email us on wpbeirut@gmail.com to chat about it.
Sponsors with 100$+ can receive:
- Company logo on the site
- Company description on the site
