The WordPress Cape Town community is a network of developers, designers and website builders who believe that WordPress is the perfect platform for any organisation to use to build their online presence effectively. For the last five years, our community has hosted the do_action WordPress Charity Hackathon where we have spent a full day building brand new websites for a selection of local charities and NGOs. This year, for the sixth annual do_action event, we are going to be repeating this for a completely new set of charitable organisations.
If you would like a brand new website for your organisation then apply to be a part of the event by filling out the application form below on or before 5 April 2019.
The only requirements for applying are that you are based in Cape Town, your organisation is a registered NGO, and you are in need of a new or updated online presence.
If you are selected as one of the organisations, a representative from the community will sit down with you to plan out your website. On the day of the hackathon, a team of volunteers will diligently build your website for you in a fun and dedicated environment.
The hackathon will be held at Workshop 17 in the V&A Waterfront on Saturday, 13 July 2019. On the day you will receive training on how to use and manage your new website, so at least one of your team members is required to be there for the full day to receive that training and to work with the volunteers who will be building your new website.
Find out more general information about do_action hackathons at the page and video here.
So if you’re interested then fill out the application form below and we’ll select the recipients within two weeks of the 5 April cut-off date.
