Building Digital Foundations for Bhopal’s Changemakers
Join us for the do_action Bhopal, India Charity Hackathon, taking place on Sunday, September 15th, 2024! This exciting event unites the WordPress Bhopal community to create impactful websites for local NGOs that are making a difference in Bhopal, India.
The Challenge
Many NGOs in Bhopal are engaged in extraordinary work but often lack a strong online presence. This hackathon aims to bridge that gap by providing these organizations with essential digital platforms. Using WordPress, we will design and develop websites that effectively communicate each NGO’s mission, showcase their impact, and inspire support.
What to Expect
- Team Formation: Connect with fellow participants and form teams based on shared interests and skills.
- NGO Partnering: Learn about the participating NGOs and their work. Choose a partner whose mission resonates with you.
- Website Development: We will collaborate to create user-friendly websites that align with each NGO’s vision and goals.
- Mentorship and Support: Receive expert guidance and support throughout the hackathon.

What an incredible day!
On September 15, 2024, we held Bhopal’s first-ever do_action charity hackathon, organized by WordPress Bhopal. This event united volunteers and NGOs/NPOs to build impactful websites that enhance their visibility and outreach in the community. Our mission was clear: support organizations committed to making a difference in society.
We were overwhelmed by the response! Initially, we aimed to partner with five NGOs, but we received nine applications, showcasing the need for digital support. With around 25 volunteers eager to contribute, we successfully launched five live websites by the end of the day!
